Back 2 Gunung Datok

I visited back my first mountain on 10th June 2010. It was Gunung Datok, Rembau.

This time, only  my youngest brother Jack and me climbed the mountain.. It was afternoon. A cloudy afternoon.

Because we climbed in weekday and in afternoon which were non-popular climbing time.... there's no other people except both of us. So, all the way up, we encounters a lot of black monkeys, lizards, and insects. The experiences of climbing were awesome and thrilling as we constantly saw trees around us shaking / moving caused by movements of monkeys:)

At the peak, we saw a dark green snake which was taking a nap under sun at rock...... and also another black monkeys.

Wall Climb Introduction Course at Putra Jaya

I went for a Wall Climbing at Putra Jaya extreme park on 12 Dec 2009. On the next day 13 Dec 2009, I also went to the rock climbing at Batu Caves. That 2 were introduction course to basic rock climbing. Organized by Kaynis via Malaysian Outdoor Trekking Hiking Scuba (MOTHS).

I learned some Basic Climbing skills  and basic belay skills. taught by Mr. Ho Chi Wah (from Kinabalu Climbing School)

Broga Hills 5th Dec 09 , Semenyih Kajang

My first time climb Broga Hills with only Garmin GPS assistance ~_~

I decided to climb Broga Hills at night but afraid of robbery... then plan postponed to early morning at 4.30am... and ended up of waking up late ~_~ hahaha .. so .. depart at around 6 and reach there at 7am...through the Lekas Highway from Mantin, N9... It is pretty obvious to find the trek for Broga Hills, basically you just need to follow the trek and there are some junction... just ignore those junction and take which ever junction that you like because it will eventually lead you to the peak of the hill. .if you afraid lost, then take which ever trek that appear to be more obvious to you.

23-25 Oct 2009, Mount Irau Cleaning Expedition

This is my Irau Cleaning Expedition Trip. Climbing Irau is easy and enjoyable as you can see a lot of beautiful tree covered with moss. However, Irau Peak was one of the dirties campsite because of its  popularity and no water point. The objective is to bring down some rubbish from the campsite.

This is my first Mount Kinabalu via Ferrata Experience. Ferrata means Iron road and it was initially build to ease the movement of soldier during world war 1. Europe has the most number of Ferrata route but Kinabalu's Ferrata was the highest in the world. In this post, you can see a lot of pics starting from bottom (Pondok Timpohan) till the peak of Mount Kinabalu including the Ferrata route. (Low's Peak Circuit).

How to Pack a Bagpack / Hiking Bag

Good arrangement of Backpack and comfortable Backpack will give you good and pleasant trip. It's important to know how to pack correctly.

Equipments give you 30% and remaining 70% is your mindset and body.

A good packing will enable you to carry up 20kg easily. I used to carry 14-16kg weight with my backpack without becoming tired for hours.

It is not a competition to carry as much loads but to carry the least possible weights.

First climb was in Year 2006. I found out that it was satisfying hobby.

Perhaps the only mountain nearby my hometown Negeri Sembilan is Mount Datok. just around 884 meter tall.
-
<----The Legend said that it was Datok's foot step ~ more or less the same size with my foot.Haha
-
<----Photo by me, the best camera I had that time (china Brand) because it's capture the moment :) I get it free from my uncle.

Mount Datok
- has very clear natural pathway. Many people climb Mount Datok, tat's y the pathway is obvious.
- 1-2hours Climb ( depends on people) average people took 1hour 30minutes.
- Nice view
- Depends on specific time to hike. Eg : early in the morning around 7 am, there will a lot mist.
- In the afternoon, it has clear view and sometime you could see Straits Of Mallaca. Evening, - you could see nice sunset but make sure you going to overnight or you able to make it down before dark.
- However, if you climb during Jan - April, most probably it will be windy. Wind blow very strong until you can feel the force of wind pushing you.. due to the strong wind, the temperature are slightly low. enough to make you feel cold if you wearing t-shirts.

How to get there ?
- Location - Rembau
If you were driving from Kuala Lumpur, take the highway exit at Senawang ( Seremban Jaya). After the tol, drive straight and u will pass by a junction, do not turn until you reach a big cross road. At there, you will have to wait for traffic light and turn to right Heading to Rembau.
Drive along the Rembau road without turning for around 30minutes. Along the road, nothing much, most of them are Palm Oil Tree. Small Rembau town is the landmark indicate that you going to reach. Move straight and try to look for Gunung Datok signboad. The signboard will be obvious. When reach the signboard, turn into Gunung datok and you will drive along small road which just fit for 2 cars. Along the road, it is forest and there's no Lamp Post. Drive along the small road carefully until you see a small signboard that tell u to turn to Gunung Datok. The sign board will lead you to Rubber Tree. and the road just fit for 1.5 car means not enought for 2 car..... drive carefully, hon whenever you going turn. Upon reaching, you will see some big rocks.

If from Seremban, just follow the signboard to Senawang, not the Ampangan. Follow the Senawang road straight. you will pass by Seremban Garden, Bukit Emas. just move straight and tat's all until u reach Rembau small city.

If from Melaka, just follow the road to Rembau and look for any sign board.

Mount datok - A suitable mountain for beginner and ideal place to visit. It's just nice and it has nice view.

The video of Gunung Datok. worth watching it . Really worth...

Robinson Water Fall

Magnificent !!!!!!!!!

Some pic of nice waterfall that I taken.
Name : Robinson Waterfall
Location : At roadside while on the way up to Tanah Rata, Cameron Highland.

How to get there?
Either descend from Cameron to the Tapah Highway and you will notice a big waterfall at roadside.

OR

Take the highway exit where there's Cameron Highland Signboard. Follow the sign board up to cameron highland. Careful driving because the old road up to Cameron is narrow.
( Highway direction is from South to North)

The road is not the Ipoh to Cameron Road... tat's another road to Cameron Highland if travel from North part of Msia.

Fucktacular Scenery of Mountains

video taken using my camera phone N79.

The beauty of this could be not seen from the video or photo, you must see it yourself.

What I see ? I saw all the mountain surrounding me along with some clouds. The sun just about to descend. Wind was blowing at the soft rate and you can feel the fresh and cold breeze of air. The temperature was just nice to make you hug yourself.. or perhaps if there a gf, I will hugging her hands staying close.. LOL.
I feel like wanna capture the whole moment with any electronic equipment.

video of at the bottom of Mount Kinabalu.... when I was on the way back to Zeuxiant House. There is a Hut behind me... old hut....

really nice view..... that's the place that you can find some solace.

I will update some picture taken from my camera (DMC-FZ28) soon.. today.. i just post this video because I stumble upon this video when viewing my other picture files.
